Why the change in format again???

I'm a fan, the headline-only left sidebar that didn't scroll was weak.

I looked at an article on Kotaku Australia yesterday. It looked so nice.

The sidebar was one of my favorite features of pre-Kinja Jalopnik.
I guess this is sort of like that, maybe, kind of.

And now I'll have to update my trending story filter...drat.

You must be new here. Welcome! ;-)

And, statistically, no one used it.

It is not an overhaul of the site, simply an improvement of the left rail. As Matt points out, the headline only version was literally unused — a waste! We are simply trying to implement something that is actually used.
I think this is a much better implementation, and I expect to see more improvements in the coming weeks.

I'm the minority then, I used it every day. I preferred the headlines version if for no other reason that I could see more than 3 popular stories.
Although, looking at it, I don't have an issue with the new format per-se, but is there any way to expand that out to more than just the top 3?

I must be that 1%, I used it all the time.... :(

Thats important. If it didn't get good use, off with her head!

I second your motion. I'm definitely not in favor of the change; all it does is help to make things too busy and the site unreadable. Oh, and I *did* use the left bar, too.

I don't care for the headlines from other sites....if I want them I'll go there on my own. The new layout sucks, thank you very much.

This site is the most f%$#ked up place I frequent. No search, feature columns completely hidden (Crack Pipe), weird scrolling that leaves many articles unaceesible, etc.

I used it all the time. we must be that 2%. (that's how percents work, right?)

That's kinda surprising, I used it all the time. I guess I'm more bored than most.
